Wedding Book Activities

Traditionally there is no need for brides to have guest books. But standard guest books can be purchased and guest can be asked to sign in them. There are also many guest book activities that are unique.

One popular option is to let guests to sign a picture of the bride and groom. The picture of the bride and groom is matted in a mat many inches larger than the photo itself. A frame is placed around this but the glass or the flexi glass frame is not included. This can be included later. A few use bulldog clips to keep the mat together instead of putting the picture in the frame. The picture can be framed after the wedding.

For the guest book option couples offer a very nice photo though it is formal to give a formal engagement photo. They preserve the photo excellently and show it off to friends and family. The photo, if taken before the wedding with wedding all are can be certainly used. The mat is left empty by many couples or a temporary picture is placed on the mat and the wedding picture placed later.

Have surely a nice sharpie marker handy and place the picture on either a study easel or on a table where the guests are sure to use it.

Another option is to provide the picture of guests themselves by taking picture as they arrive with a Polaroid camera and a photographer. Once the picture is dry give a sharpie and the guests can sign the picture, make a note to the bride and groom or hand draw a silly picture whatever it is. This is a unique and personal way for guests to “sign in” at the wedding.

One who takes the pictures should prepare an album. It can be a special memory book with the Polaroid pictures in it or a simple album presented to the bride and groom later.

Many guests don’t bother about the guest book and rush past the guest book table for their cocktail and the dance floor. You can send a ‘traveling’ guet book and send each guest some thing to sign or decorate before the wedding.

In this scenario, you can ask each guest to write something useful on a bit of paper for the bride and groom. The pieces of paper are returned before the wedding, compiled properly and presented to them on the wedding day.

Send each guest, in a scrap book fashion, a piece of paper of the size of a photo album 6”x6”, 8”x8”, or 12”x12” to sign and decorate.

The guests are instructed to create memory page for the bride and groom. They might include photos, quotes, small anecdotal stories or combine all of these with stickers or embellishments. It is a thoughtful, meaningful and personal way of including guests who do not attend the wedding but want to be part of it.
