Post Wedding Activities

For many receptions is not the end of wedding activities. Other activities continue based on the location of the wedding and the couple’s relationship with their families.





At breakfast the following day it is time for everyone to evaluate the performance of every individual and share memories of the sweet night before. The breakfast simple or elaborate can be at a friendly relative’s house so that everyone can stay and enjoy. It can be pot back style, catered or at the restaurant.

The day after the wedding, the bride and groom are expected to open the presents in the presence of the family for good luck. The presents can be opened, displayed, and demonstrated in the presence of a simple gathering of friends and family. There can be a discussion in great detail also.

Opening the gifts can be full of fun through some silly activities like opening the smallest gifts and then moving to the largest or vice versa. The wedding gown might be packed up with the help of the women members of the bride. The wedding bouquet may also be preserved and both can be done at home. The women may like to preserve the flowers as well.

A scrap book party may also be arranged by the bride after the wedding. Without the photos but she can scrap book many other wedding events like manicures, various parties and the candid photos taken by the wedding guests the night before. Apart from the photos the women can reflect on the events at the wedding and laugh at all fun ties and journal and preserve memories before a few are lost. The bride will feel that she is in control, partially, of all those photos before her honeymoon and takes many more photos.

Choose a design for thank you card long before the wedding and make a proto type. Get all the supplies and suggest to others how the cards should be made. Even men can help folding the cards, handling any computer work, cutting and pasting. Send the bride and groom with these cards on their return from honeymoon they can just jot off a quick note.

Some activities by brides tend to help everyone calm down relax and unwind after a busy week end. A picnic can be planned and many games played like foot ball, volley ball or base ball. Water guns or a dart board can be brought. Some fun and blowing off steam is the real intention. You can have your own rules for the games. The day is for relaxation, unwinding and spending some quality time with family and friends before the end of the special week end.
